Congratulations. You’ve identified potential fraud. Now what?
Three suggestions for when fraud is suspected:
1. Reach out to the listing agent to confirm that the seller is really who they say they are.
2. Make an attempt to reach out to the homeowner directly, bypassing contact information that was provided by the listing agent or supposed seller.
3. Create process rules for any sellers who have “failed” ID Scan, such as requiring an in-person signing, RON signing, or similar.
